Our commitment to family-friendly values recognised again in Latvia
We have long been dedicated to creating a workplace that prioritises family, diversity, and well-being in Latvia. In 2024, this commitment was recognised with two prestigious awards: the highest Gold status in the “Employer Open to Diversity” programme and the Family-Friendly Workplace award. Both awards are part of initiatives by the Society Integration Foundation of the Republic of Latvia. This marks the second time we received the Family-Friendly Workplace Award.
Aleksandra Safonova, HR Partner and leader of employee engagement initiatives in Latvia, explains: “These recognitions are the result of our strategic and intentional investments in our culture, people, and mission. They not only highlight our dedication to fostering a supportive environment for our employees but also reinforce our focus on work-life balance and inclusivity.”

Doubling down on employee engagement
Building a strong sense of community among colleagues is a year-round effort in our Latvian organisation. We actively organise events that allow employees to bond outside of work, whether it’s celebrating International Children’s Day, participating in the Riga Marathon as a team, or coming together for summer festivities. These efforts help create a more connected and engaged workforce.
Safety and well-being are also top priorities. We offer regular fire extinguisher and first aid training, ensuring employees are well-prepared for any emergency. Another example is the Jurmala Color Run, where we encourage our employees to bring their children, creating a family-friendly atmosphere at company-sponsored events. Many of these marathons also support charitable causes, underscoring our commitment to social responsibility.
We are committed to stepping up when it matters most. In December 2024, our Latvian service center and Prodem employees teamed up for a heartwarming initiative—gathering gifts for 22 orphaned children to ensure they had a brighter holiday season.
Balancing work and family life
Safonova believes that a great employee experience is rooted in finding the right balance between work and family life.
“Even small efforts, like offering flexible work arrangements or creating child-friendly spaces on-site, can make a significant difference,” she says.
For example, we have introduced initiatives to help working parents in our Latvian organisation. Employees whose children are starting school receive stationery sets, and we offer a paid day off on the first day of the school year. “It’s a simple way to show we care,” Safonova notes.
Beyond events and activities, we maintain rigorous management systems, supported by both internal and external audits, to ensure the health, safety, and well-being of all employees. Our initiatives cover a wide range of employee needs, from paid leave and financial bonuses to health and wellness programs, all aimed at promoting flexibility and supporting diverse family situations.
And, of course, we are fully compliant with local legal requirements related to employee health and safety, further reinforcing our commitment to a supportive and secure work environment.
We Care culture in Latvia
Being recognised as a family-friendly workplace is more than just a way to attract top talent —it reflects our broader commitment to positive social impact.
“At Lindström Latvia, we believe it’s essential for employees to find joy in their daily work”, Safonova says. “Our employees highly appreciate the We Care culture, and it’s a key factor in their engagement and satisfaction.”
We have seen positive results from its culture-focused approach in Latvia, including a growing commitment among employees, longer tenure, and improved performance. “These outcomes are a testament to the positive impact of our company culture and the ongoing support we provide,” Safonova adds.
By prioritising work-life balance, inclusivity, and family-friendly policies, we continue to create a workplace where employees feel valued, supported, and empowered to thrive both professionally and personally.
