Threads reshaped for a net-zero future
Decisions for a better tomorrow
Guided by our purpose we have made a commitment that will guide our decisions for the next decades. We aim to reduce our greenhouse gas emissions every year and halve our greenhouse emissions by 2030 from the year 2021 level and reach net zero by 2050 across our value chain. Our targets have been validated by the Science Based Targets initiative to ensure that they are aligned with the latest climate science.
The journey to net-zero has started
We have calculated our greenhouse gas emissions and identified that textiles, energy & electricity and customer deliveries cover almost 70% of our emissions. We have also identified the actions that help us reduce those emissions. Those impact on which material, where and how our textiles are produced. Our service centers explore ways to improve energy efficiency and waste heat utilisation as well as to switch to renewable energy and electricity sources. And we are also exploring more sustainable alternatives for customer deliveries.
Striving towards our target
Net-zero laundry program is one of our key initiatives to significantly reduce the greenhouse gas emissions from our operations.
Our new fabric crafted from recycled fibres from our end-of-life textiles marks a significant step in workwear fabric innovation.
Science-based targets
Lindström Group commits to reach net-zero GHG emissions across the value chain by 2050 from a 2021 base year.*
Near-Term Target:
Lindström Group commits to reduce absolute Scope 1 and 2 GHG emissions 50% by 2030 from a 2021 base year.* Lindström Group also commits to reduce absolute Scope 3 GHG emissions 50% within the same timeframe.
Long-Term Target:
Lindström Group commits to reduce absolute Scope 1 and 2 GHG emissions 90% by 2050 from a 2021 base year.* Lindström Group also commits to reduce absolute Scope 3 GHG emissions 90% within the same timeframe.
* The target boundary includes land-related emissions and removals from bioenergy feedstocks.
